When I Wished for a Therapist Who Truly Got It

Jamie’s journey to motherhood didn’t look like the picture-perfect story she once imagined. For her, becoming a mom started with the long, emotional road of IVF. The endless appointments, the waiting, the mix of hope and heartbreak—it was a process that tested her strength, her patience, and her ability to hold onto hope.

And through it all, Jamie couldn’t help but notice something: while she had support, what she really longed for was a therapist who truly understood what she was going through. Someone who didn’t just know about fertility struggles from textbooks or case studies, but someone who had lived it.

Because IVF isn’t just about the medical side—the injections, the procedures, the results. It’s about the emotional rollercoaster. The way hope rises and falls with every cycle. The way it impacts identity, self-esteem, and relationships. The way partners quietly carry their own pain, sometimes without a safe place to share it.

Now that Jamie is on the other side—adjusting to life as a new mom—she’s carrying that realization forward into her practice. She wants to be the therapist she once wished she had.

Jamie knows that when you’re in the thick of IVF or new motherhood, it can feel isolating. You may wonder if anyone really understands how hard it is to hold everything together, or if anyone sees the layers of grief, hope, and exhaustion you’re carrying. That’s why she’s expanding her work to focus on supporting women, men, and partners navigating IVF, fertility challenges, and the transition into parenthood.

Her goal is simple: to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can feel seen in their struggle, validated in their emotions, and supported in moving through one of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives.

Jamie can’t take away the waiting, the uncertainty, or the sleepless nights. But she can offer what she once needed most—someone who really gets it.
